What is FFA All About? FFA History Unit

My goal when creating this unit plan (which will take you around two weeks) was to provide a different approach to teaching the FFA History facts and dates. I wanted to provide something that would give students a change to be creative and build a connection with the material and not just memorize it for the test. My hope was to show students the answer to – “What is FFA All About?” And not just tell them information for them to never make connections to. This is one of the first units I teach in the fall to my Ag Science I students and I want them to fully be able to answer the question what is FFA all about and why FFA?

What will my students learn?
Students will learn be able to answer the question – What is FFA all about? They will learn so much about FFA history dates in a fun and interactive way! No need to stand up and lecture the entire time! Let the students take control of their own learning!

Objectives:

1. Explain how, when, and why the FFA was organized
2. Explain the mission and strategies, colors, motto, parts of the emblem, and the organizational structure of the FFA.
3. Recite and explain the meaning of the FFA Creed.
