The guide is created to allow the teacher freedom in the implementation of the material into the classroom. It can be used as complete unit to promote the understanding of hunger and food security or it can be added to an existing curriculum to enhance what is already being used.
Objectives
Define and explain food security, food insecurity, and define hunger.
Explain the difference between food insecurity and hunger.
Explain what factors contribute to food insecurity.
Demonstrate knowledge concerning what is done in the United State to make food safe.
