The BBQ sauce lab and unit was created to give students a hands on approach to the history of BBQ sauce and to allow them to compete in a BBQ sauce competition.
This is a really fun lab that is great to do when you are at the end of the year or close to a break. It gives students a chance to look at things different and EAT! Which everyone loves! You can purchase it here individually, or it can be found as a bundle in my Food Science First Semester Bundle.
Objectives:
Explore the history of BBQ sauce and create a timeline to show when it was created.
Explain the difference between the different type of bases for sauces.
Create their own line of BBQ sauce with a new name, bottle, label and slogan.
