Students will learn how food cost and nutritional value affect consumers buying decisions. All information can be used independently or with interactive student notebooks. Through this activity students will learn the price of food based on nutritional value and serving size. They will use the knowledge gained from their research to plan a meal for two people for three days. It must include one vegetable or fruit, meat, starch, dairy, and drink for each meal. Students will plan for breakfast, lunch, and supper and complete the activity twice. Once for Family G and once for Family L. Family G has a budget of $100 for three days. Family L does not have budget for their meals.
