Can you teach me how to make pancakes? Heck yes I can and you can learn so much more while using this easy lesson on pancakes for beginners.  Do you teach summer school, homeschool, or just love to make pancakes for National Pancake Day in your classroom? This pancake lesson plan is FOR YOU!

 

I don’t have a stove- so I can’t use this lesson.

Ummm nope! Think again! I taught 21 high school students this lesson for the last couple of years as their final in May using only ELECTRIC SKILLETS! If you want to learn more tips check out the blog post about it! It is the best thing and the easiest to clean up!

 

What will my students learn?

1.Students will be able to explain the history of pancakes.
2.Students will explore different ag products that are used to make pancakes.
3.Students will be create and test hypothesis for sweet and savory pancakes.
4.Students will create and follow a budget for ingredients to make pancakes.
5.Students will complete a taste testing lab using different brands of pancakes.

Materials Needed:

  • Information in this packet and student copies
  • Pancake Ingredients
  • Different types of brands of instant boxed mix pancakes – Bisquick, Great value, ect ( I use three)

This lab allows you to set your own budget for the ingredients because of the diversity of the ingredients that you allow the students to use.
