This is a fun unit that exposes students to the basics of plumbing. Not only does it include hands on activities but it also includes reading strategies and computer learning. Students will learn how to read a tape measure and apply those skills to measure, cut, and glue pipe together.

Purpose:
Students will learn basic skills and knowledge associated with plumbing. Using skills they learn throughout the lesson the students will be able to use a tape measure to cut a piece of pipe to a specified length. Then the students will have to demonstrate how to glue the pipe together.
 
Objective:
  1. Define and recognize the different types of pipes used.
  2. Correctly read a tape measure and use those skills to measure a piece of pipe with 100% accuracy.
  3. Demonstrate how to cut and glue pipe together correctly.
