I was tired of answering the door and telling a student I was busy, therefore I came up with the Respectful Stoplight! Students know if my close pin is on the red signal I am busy with a student or unable to help them because of various reasons. If it is on the yellow signal I am teaching class. Therefore, they should come back at a later time unless it is urgent. When the close pin is on the green signal I love to visit with students! This has helped cut down on students who just want a place to hang out when you are trying to complete lesson plans or helping another student to be successful. It also helps in between classes if I have to talk to a student.
